Edirne, my back yard, and Tbilisi!

Life in the medical school The bridge from which I played Pooh Sticks. It dates from the sixteenth century. A little bit of racism in Edirne? Finals, what finals? There is sun and sangria! (You're still in the picture Deniz!) Will Bey Tyler has something to say, don't be embarrassed Gulsah! AND my second day in Tbilisi! (mostly my fascination with bread and pork products) Then they put me to work! And lastly, my over indulgence in all things pig! Fresh bread, cheese, and pig!

In an attempt to conduct research, I and a few friends flew across the country, rented a car and proceed to drive. We visited a number of 10th and 11th century Georgian churches, hiked some mountains, and ate some amazing food. Here are a few photos to prove it. Still awesome. Monastery turned mosque. Small chapel now used to house firewood. Fire in a ruined church. Never gets old! Something is missing? Lovely as always! Impressed yet? Some fun figures. Konya, Kayseri, and places between

It was necessary for my research to take a short trip to the interior of Anatolia. I needed to acquaint myself with the architecture of the Seljuks of the 13th century.
