This will be short as I am writing from my friends iphone. However my first three days have been rather enjoyable. Istanbul is hot ny day and enjoyable by night. My fisrt day was really a half day and was comprised of an abrieviated tour followed by cafe hopping. Turkish food is amazing and Turkish hospitality is even better. I am having trouble paying for everything as it was my first day and I was to be treated by my hosts. Yesterday was my third day and I was still getting the same excuse and insistence that I not contribute to the bill. The most important part of my visit so far was my visit to aya sophia. The day was started by a visit to the basilica sistern or yerebatan sarnici, a pretty fantasti place and a marvelous bit of architecture and science. Aya sophia came next and if a didn't have three Turks the I dragged with me I could have spent all day there. Five years of wanting to see it were not in vain. I have a number of pictures that I may upload someday. Anyway this is long for an iPhone. Time to go to the grand bazaar! Gorusmek uzere!!
